With this safari, GeoQwest combines the tradition of the family tree hunt with a day of winter wilderness exploration through the spectacular Okanagan Highlands. Many roads are kept open by active timber harvesting and are safety traveled in our radio equipped and comfortable luxury 4x4 SUV.

Our routes travel deep into the forests to find those special places where you can relax around a roaring winter campfire or play in the snow and that will add a dimension to your Christmas season that may have been lost in the commotion of a modern Christmas. Brilliant blue skies are a common reward of climbing out of the valley into the frosted wilderness of the highlands. Bring your ice fishing equipment (and licence!) and try your luck. A snow shovel and skates can add yet another possibility to your day.

Armed with a cutting permit from the Ministry of Forests, the trip will travel forest roads and scan power lines in search of that most special tree for the year. What that tree might lack in symmetry and perfection of an expensive cultured tree from a lot, this tree will hold special meaning on Christmas Day unlike any tree you've had before. In your travels on these route, wildlife spotting is at it's best as forest cover is low and tracks are easily spotted.
