The fascination of ghost towns and gold creeks has always been with us. And everyone knows that they use products of the mining industry every moment of
their lives. Yet few have ever had the chance to visit and learn the principles, processes of mining or visit the sites that have contributed so much to our evolution and modern life.
GeoQwest was originally founded on the Mining Heritage Safari concept of taking people into the mountains to find and explore the lost histories of our mining
and exploration history. More importantly, GeoQwest brings knowledge to our clients who want to learn more about the true story of mining and not necessarily that portayed by
media and special interest groups. We bring you to the authentic mining history of BC

GeoQwest is unique in Canada and a leader in British Columbia in bringing this vital part of our culture to global visitors. Mining and exploration have
been cornerstones to every region of BC since the mid 1800s. Nearly every interior town can track it's origin to some aspect of the mining industry.
The concept for GeoQwest's Mining Heritage Tours is based on strong public interest in the history and the lack of public access to authentic sites and
clear interpretation. The mining industry can appear to be intimidating and inaccessible to the general public. GeoQwest is working to break down the perceived barriers between
the industry and the public with factual first hand exposure to this fascinating world.
Company founder and tour host Steve Noakes has had a 20 year career in international mineral exploration with a major Canadian mining corporation.
He has been fortunate enough to work in virtually every region of the province on projects ranging from gold, silver and zinc to industrial minerals and niobium. He now
brings that expertise to GeoQwest clients.
Our safaris go to any number of known mining areas. Or we hunt out lost mines guided by a database of over 14,000 showing, past and current mines using
GPS and our specially equipped safari vehicle. These trips often take us into exciting new terrain full of adventure and surprise.
The processes of mineralization, structural controls and mining methods are related in terms that are easily understood and remembered. The principles of
mineralization to metal production are simplified to the point that our clients never look at a rock in quite the same way again!
Ask us about custom mining heritage touring throughout BC. We can build you a spectacular overland safari by researching any region of BC and follow the
GPS to any mineralized site in the province.
Go ahead! Be a prospector of the new millennium and follow BC gold and copper trails to past riches. Discover the real history of lost fortunes with a
GeoQwest Mining Heritage Safari.
